JOURNEYMAN IN ATHENS

journeyman in athens ,summer 1356/1977

Where did Greek bring these hills from
If they were naked
And love hungry?
The young enthusiast conquerred to burn
I elevated my sights
On the hills of Athens
To elevate my sights.
It was about noon
When I got up you
As I promissed
It was not to burn
But to be burnt
And in moments
We embraced
And both burnt.
I told you today is my day
And you whispered:
Our day.
I made it our day
Because without you
I could not be you
You could not be I.
Still
Where
These
Playful
Hills
Were
From?
Where was the hearth all these years
And the waterfall
And the wave?
O Baby!
